Printed logs may be inspected at the public counter with no fee during regular business hours. Computer logs are not available for inspection. All requests for information must be in writing with all possible details concerning the names of individuals involved, and the date, location, and nature of the incident for which the copy is being requested. Vague or open-ended requests will not be accepted for processed.

Traffic Collision Reports are available to parties involved in a collision, registered owners of vehicles involved in a collision, or representatives of parties involved with proper authorization provided by the involved parties. Collision reports are available approximately 10 working days after the incident. Reports involving criminal proceedings may be subject to redactions, however, the collision information is available for insurance and civil purposes as soon as it is approved by the Traffic Division. For mail in requests a check or money order made payable to City of Riverside must accompany the request to initiate the process. In our continuing effort to improve the processing and delivery of Traffic Collision Reports, we have partnered with LexisNexis and have implemented online availability to purchase these reports. Note: Traffic Collision reports involving a fatality or on-duty emergency vehicle will not be available through LexisNexis and will only be available through the Police Department.
